Yes and no. In PvE, elite specs are pretty much always going to win at end game. In PvP, it's not quite as clear cut, with a few core classes having very strong, pretty comparable builds. Necro, thief, guardian in particular have very strong core builds that can stand against elite spec builds. 35. Tokkijang. Elementalist is the class that i played the most but today, i cannot find any reason to keep playing my elem. I have the feeling that Arena just destroyed the class, the new elite specs is useless, it's possible to have one of the strongest dps but you need to spend weeks on golem for masteries this. Guild Wars 2's fourth expansion, called Secrets of the Obscure, will release on August 22. (ie, class) a new elite spec, which took the form of new combat mechanics and a new weapon to equip That would allow all existing weapons to work with it. Honestly they should tweak the ele elite so it changes all auras into that effect. This, replacing auras by the new orb mechanic would be a great way to make the elite specialization feel like something different. have the same feeling with the vindicator ability. Maybe I am playing them wrong but its the class I struggled with the most since coming back. And this is from someone who mained a thief throughout beta and the first 1.5 yrs when I played way back when (hundreds of hrs on thief). I would say out of HoT and PoF, the spec that surprised me the most might be Firebrand. Personally, I love the simplicity of some of the Core weapons and specs, and think it would do wonders for build diversity for them to be brought up to par with some of the Elites. They don't have to be comparable, but it's pretty easy for Elites to get 50-100% more damage/heal/boon support than similar Core builds on the same class. Out of all the classes able to wield a sword, the mesmer does it best IMO. This is the correct answer. Thief also gets good use from a sword, they would probably be second, followed by Guardian if you are doing a dps build. I actually really like the ranger 1H sword. As do I -- rangers with swords end up VERY bouncy. Example 2 - deadeye you are able to use a sniper rifle. Again its a choice, the abilities with deadeye are like marking targets for extra crit as a rogue in wow. All classes eventually will unlock 3 simultaneous skill trees to use. You may also use 2 sets of weapons to swap from, each having their own abilities and combos. mHbU.
